I have a Mission President!!

Picture by Jacob Nelson age 7

Here we go! We received our mission call in April and now we have 12 days till we report to the Provo MTC!

After waiting 5 weeks for our mission call to come we finally received it on April the 8th. It was a good thing too because we were leaving for Texas the next day for our granddaughter's Baptism. Gathered together in our family room were my brother and sister-in-law and my daughter Mimi and her family and because of the miracle of modern technology five of other kids and their families were on SKYPE watching us open the envelope!

We were called to serve in the England London South Mission working with the Stake Young Single Adult program. What a thrill! We are so glad for the assignment.

Our Mission President is Roger Millar called us in June to welcome  us and let us know that we will be living in Bristol serving the Bristol Stake Young Single Adults. Elder and Sister Robbins are the missionaries we will be replacing. We have pictures of our flat, car and a list of all the items that are already there for us to use thanks to this sweet couple. We are hoping to touch base with them when we go up to UT before we enter the MTC. They have already returned and live in American Fork.

We spent most of the past 4 months traveling the country visiting and saying good by to grandkids. It is so important to us that they know that we love them and that they are a big part of the reason we are serving this mission. All together we have travelled about 10,000 miles. As hectic as all of this travel has been it has been so worth it! Our family has been such a great strength and support to us through all this process. We are so blessed!!

In one week we leave for Utah and on Monday Aug 5 we report. We will be in the MTC for 10 days and the travel department has arranged our flight schedule so that we can stay and extra day in Provo to go to our Son Michael's Commencement. He will be receiving his Masters Degree.

Lots to do between now and then but we are so excited! Tally Ho!
